CPR and Life Support Education

American Safety & Health Institute Community CPR/AED First Aid Classes

Please read through all information before registering for a class.

Participation is limited to UNM employees and their immediate family members. Classes are held on the first Friday of each month from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm unless it is a holiday. Each class will include CPR/AED and first aid, however, those not needing first aid may leave early. CPR and First Aid classes are considered filled with 12 participants. The class is $55 total with electronic book included with card. Payment can be made through check, cash, or department purchase request.

Breathing barrier key chains available to purchase at EHPP for $5 each (cash or check only please).

The purpose of the Adult CPR/AED course is to give individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic first aid care for breathing and cardiac emergencies until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. This course teaches participants about: priority of care; safety concerns, first aid skills, and information on automated external defibrillators (AEDs). This course is held every month. CPR/AED/First Aid completion cards are valid for two years.

Registration

Participants are asked to pre-register by calling 505. 272.4460 to secure a place and pay before the class. If certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross is needed, please notify the staff when registering. Registration can be done at the EHPP main office in Johnson Center, room 162-B or it can be mailed to:

Classes begin on time.
Anyone arriving 15 minutes late will need to reschedule.
Classes are held in Johnson Center classrooms on UNM main campus.
Pre-registration and prepayment are required for all classes.
No children or infants in classes.
