Employee Health Promotion Program

General Information

UNM’s Employee Health Promotion Program (EHPP) is dedicated to offering convenient and affordable access to health improvement opportunities at the worksite.

As part of the Division of Human Resources, EHPP exists to serve the people who serve the mission of the University of New Mexico.  Programs specifically address the following issues in population health:

  1. Improving preventive care for health screenings and immunizations,
  2. Risk reduction with increased physical activity,
  3. Risk reduction with increased healthy eating,
  4. Risk reduction with effective stress management, and
  5. Risk reduction with decreased tobacco use.

Expected Effects / Benefits to UNM
It is expected that the Employee Health Promotion Program contribute to better controlling healthcare costs and increasing productivity by:

  • Reducing health risks,
  • Reducing absenteeism,
  • Collaborating with internal and external health partners to increase scope of services as well as quality of services,
  • Providing a valued-added benefit to recruit and retain employees, and
  • Guiding internal employees to be “role models of health” in the community.

Some services are free, while others have a low-cost fee.  Please contact the relevant area for fees.

We encourage all faculty, staff, and their families to take advantage of the programs we have to offer.  (Most services are available for ages 18 and over.)

After all, maintaining a healthy life is the foundation for all you do!
