Recruitment Services

Recruitment Services develops strategies that brand and market UNM to potential, qualified applicants by coordinating job fairs and developing relationships with diverse community partners. This office collaborates with the Office of Equal Opportunity to participate in UNM's strategic diversity initiatives that comply with the Affirmative Action Plan. Recruitment Services also conducts research to identify recruitment sources and understand current trends for targeting potential applicants as well as collecting data to assess past and future recruitment effectiveness for strategy development.

Services and Benefits

Targeted recruitment plans and hiring timelines

  • Staff Recruitment Services (SRS) will partner with you to understand the specific goals of your department. We will work hand-in-hand to craft a recruitment strategy to execute your goals, including conducting research to identify recruitment resources for advertising job postings, and targeting potential applicants for a specific position and/or industry.
  • SRS will collect, analyze, and provide department reports to assess recruitment effectiveness and the return on investment (ROI) for future strategy development.

Development of attractive and action-oriented job postings/outreach

  • Utilizing generic job description language for a posting usually does not attract the best quality candidates for your open position. SRS can assist you in developing posting/advertising language to ensure your posting will attract the right readers, and lead them into applying for the position.

No cost recruitment resources

  • SRS has identified job boards that are local to New Mexico communities and are of no cost to the department. Upon request, SRS will post your position on any of the complimentary job boards on behalf of your department.
  • SRS can perform a UNMJobs resume keyword search, and send out an email from UNMJobs to invite applicants to apply directly or refer someone to the specified job posting.

Recommend and coordinate employment advertising, branding, and marketing

  • When recommending and coordinating paid recruitment and advertising, SRS can connect with thousands of associations, publishers, newspapers, job boards, social networks, and other publishing channels to advertise your open positions.
  • Paid advertising costs are charged back to the department via an index number, expediting and simplifying the advertising process.
  • Harness the value of social media through our Staff UNM Careers pages on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

Diversity and Community Outreach

  • SRS develops strategies to brand and market UNM by establishing relationships and leveraging networks, career fairs, internal referrals, and professional associations to identify and attract qualified diverse candidates to the University.
  • SRS will assist in developing and/or assessing your diversity strategy for industry-specific position openings.
  • SRS ensures that all employment branding reflects a positive, engaging, and diverse workplace culture.

The University of New Mexico (UNM), Division of Human Resources has partnered with and funded two job board integrations for all UNM departments to leverage. UNM departments have the opportunity to select one or both of the following external recruitment resources that have been integrated into UNMJobs.
