The Center for English Language and American Culture (CELAC) at the University of New Mexico is offering its Community English Course this Spring 2026 for adult learners who want to strengthen their English skills for everyday life in New Mexico. This six-week, in-person course is designed for low-intermediate to intermediate learners and focuses on building practical communication skills.
Participants will work on English conversation, grammar, reading, and writing in a supportive classroom environment led by experienced CELAC instructors. Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m., beginning Feb. 3 and ending March 12, on the UNM campus.
The course fee is $195, which includes all course materials and registration. UNM employees may enroll for free with tuition remission, making this an excellent professional development opportunity. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the University of New Mexico.
Enrollment is open now, and space is limited. The deadline for enrollment and payment is Jan. 27.
