Did you know that UNM has more than 1,000 identified veteran and military students on campus? Many face unique challenges as non-traditional students—they may be older, have families, or be making a career change. Some may also struggle with transitioning to civilian life, which can make the classroom environment more challenging.
You can help make this transition easier by participating in Green Zone Training. This training is designed for both staff and faculty and covers essential topics about supporting our military-affiliated students.
Join President Stokes and the Veteran & Military Resource Center (VMRC) and become a Green Zone Ally.
When: March 27 | 10:30 a.m. to noon
Where: Trailblazer/Spirit Room, SUB third floor
Attend In-Person or Virtually: Register Here
By the end of the training, participants will be able to confidently handle difficult scenarios when working with veterans and military students.
Contact Samantha Griswold at sgrizlo@unm.edu or Alonzo Maestas at amaest77@unm.edu or the VMRC at (505) 277-3181 for information and inquiries.
