
Affirmative Action Plans
As a federal contractor, UNM is required by U.S. Presidential Executive Order 11246 to develop and implement affirmative action plans on an annual basis.
The basic concept behind the requirement of a Plan is to eliminate employment practices that discriminate against women and persons belonging to particular minority and ethnic groups. Certain federal contractors are also required to develop and implement an affirmative action plan to ensure equal employment opportunities for veterans and individuals with disabilities.
