What is Sexual Harassment?

For many people, "sexual harassment" is an emotionally charged topic, loaded with confusion and uncertainty.

But what really is and what is not sexual harassment?
This course will help you answer these questions.

While there are many forms of harassment, this course focuses on sexual harassment, including verbal and physical conduct of a sexual nature.

Unwelcome or offensive sexual behavior by faculty, staff or students is inappropriate and, in some cases, may be an abuse of authority. The involved parties can be men or women; supervisors, subordinates, peers, contractors or visitors to campus.
We all suffer when abusive and demeaning behavior is tolerated in our workplaces and classrooms. To eliminate sexual harassment, we need to understand it.
