On April 23, 2024, the Department of Labor (DOL) released a final rule adjusting salary thresholds for overtime exemptions under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The first increase will occur on July 1, 2024. UNM HR is currently conducting a complete assessment of the final rule, however, we anticipate that the July 1st increase will have minimal impact on university employees.
