One way that The University of New Mexico recognizes the dedication of its staff and faculty is through its service award program, which honors employees with a service award for every five years of employment.
After a several-year hiatus due to the pandemic, we are excited to announce the resumption of the annual Service Award Ceremony. This year’s ceremony will take place on April 11, and will celebrate faculty and staff members who have reached milestones of 15 years and above during fiscal year 2023-24.
Despite not holding the annual ceremony the past several years, Human Resources has continued to administer the recognition program, providing service award pins for employees’ 5-year or 10-year recognition, as well as providing gifts and certificates for employees with milestones of 15 years and above.
In the event you have not received your service award pin or recognition packet, please check with your department unit administrator. If you need further assistance, please reach out to serviceawardsinfo@unm.edu.
Finally, we understand the disappointment for those faculty and staff who missed out on their award ceremony during the pandemic. HR is exploring options for additional ceremonies or events to acknowledge all employees who reached service milestones during years when the annual ceremony was canceled. We will provide further updates once decisions are made and details are finalized.
Congratulations to all employees who are being recognized for a service milestone! We appreciate all your hard work and effort to continue to make UNM a top place to work.
