There are many strategies we can use to take care of our mental health. Counseling, meditation, work-life balance, social connection, regular exercise, and even medications are all super effective. But what about our food choices? Can they also help improve our mood?
According to recent research, the answer is yes!
One study showed that following the Mediterranean Diet can decrease symptoms of depression.
Another study demonstrated that eating two extra servings of fruits and vegetables a day for just two weeks can produce improvements in vitality, motivation, and flourishing.
And yet another study found that eating five or more servings of fruits and vegetables a day was associated with better mental health.
