Hiring Programs
 

  • Term Retention Initiative
    This program is designed for term-appointment staff whose terms are not extended due to funding disruptions. It aims to connect our valued term staff with new opportunities across the institution, helping to retain talent, and preserve institutional knowledge while leveraging the skills and expertise of our current employees.
  • Non-UNM Student Hire Program
    This program is designed to provide departments the opportunity to engage high school and non-UNM college students in mutually beneficial, paid internship experiences at the University of New Mexico. In addition to providing hands-on learning for students, the program supports recruitment efforts by showcasing UNM as both an employer and higher education institution of choice.
  • Veteran Hiring Preference Program
    This program is designed to provide qualified veterans with additional consideration for vacant staff positions within the UNM system. Participating veterans will be granted, at minimum, an initial interview for all regular staff positions, excluding contract staff classifications, for which they have applied.
