Coaching

Throughout the year you should be providing continuous feedback to your employee.  Coaching is a year around process.   The following steps will aid you in this process:

  1. Set Clear Expectations - Clear expectations will drive individual contributions that will result in accomplishing set goals.
  2. Monitor Progress - The manager should regularly monitor employee’s progress and coach them in areas in which they need to improve.   The One-on-One Status Report Form can aid both you and the employee with documenting progress toward goals. 
  3. Importance of Feedback – Giving feedback in ways that encourage a positive relationship and improve performance is a skill that can be learned. Like any skill, the more you do it, the more proficient you become.
