Getting Started with Medicare 101

Do you want to know more about Medicare? UNM’s Benefits & Employee Wellness will host “Getting Started with Medicare” educational workshops and webinars to help you navigate its complexity.

“Getting Started with Medicare” is presented by UNM’s Retiree Medicare plan representatives. Sessions will help you to:

• Compare the parts of Medicare and coverage options
• Explain the benefits and costs of Parts A, B, C, and D
• Compare Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage
• Discuss how Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) policies and Medicare Advantage Plans differ
• Describe the Health Insurance Marketplace and what people nearing Medicare eligibility need to know
• Recognize Medicare programs for people with limited income and resources

The 90-minute presentations will include in-person and virtual options to accommodate your preference. The in-person workshops can be registered on Learning Central, and the virtual webinar registration links are available at UNM’s Benefits website https://hr.unm.edu/benefits. You will need your UNM ID and password to login. Call IT HELP DESK at (505)277-5757 to obtain your UNM ID and or reset your password

Enter “Getting Started with Medicare” in the Find Learning search box to locate the session, get the details on dates, times, and locations, and register. In-person registration is limited to 15 participants to allow for interactive Q&A, so register today!
