What is ULead?

Leadership is a skill for any role, not just supervisors or managers.

In this 5-week leadership intensive, you will gain the tools to become a more effective leader, improve your communication, manage conflict successfully, and lead a team with confidence.

 

Who Would Benefit from ULead?

Any employee looking to improve their interpersonal skills to become more effective in the workplace will benefit from ULead. ULead is the ideal program for employees interested in developing their leadership skills as part of their career path. ULead is available to all UNM employees as part of your UNM Benefits.

 

Program Details

The ULead program is an immersive in person experience, culminating in a final group project presentation. Your cohort will meet twice per week to focus on a range of topics including:

  • Behavioral Self-Assessment
  • Productivity
  • Communication
  • Project Management
  • Diversity and Inclusion
  • Managing Workplace Relationships
  • Leading and Motivating a Team

Attendance is mandatory for all 10 sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion and digital badge.

 

How Do I Apply?

Complete the ULead Application Form and we will contact you with next steps. Course size is limited, so apply as soon as possible. Deadline for the Fall 2026 application is September 18th. Applications received after the deadline will be accommodated based on capacity.

Things to consider before applying:

  • Time Commitment: ULead is an intense time commitment and attendance at all sessions and completion of the final project are mandatory to receive your certificate of completion.
  • Supervisor Approval: Because of the time commitment, supervisor approval is required. Need help persuading your supervisor? Share our program information letter with your manager!
