The UNMJobs 2.0 kick-off meeting was held on July 24, 2015. System design and development meetings began the week of August 10, and occured on a regular basis several times a week. As of April 3, 2017, the new UNMJobs system is now live!
Online training for users of the UNMJobs 2.0 system is now available. If you are a UNMJobs user, please review the system transition schedule for important dates and information.
To streamline the application and hiring process at The University of New Mexico, HR is spearheading the development of a new and improved Talent Management System (TMS). The system will still be called UNMJobs, but the usability and features will be greatly enhanced.
The current applicant tracking system has limited integration with Banner, does not utilize the performance management system, and requires primarily manual onboarding. UNMJobs 2.0 will have a modern look and feel, and will allow individual employment areas to customize their landing pages, postings, applicant experiences, approval workflows, and offer letters without having to contact the vendor to make the customizations.
UNMJobs 2.0 focuses on talent and people management in order to increase efficiency, maximize productivity, and empower employees. This aligns with the UNM2020 Vision, Goal 1 – Become a Destination University.
Furthermore, UNMJobs 2.0 will enable the University to anticipate future needs and align them with Goal 6 – Ensure Financial Integrity & Strength, which states: Utilize strategies that recognize market realities in higher education, as well as opportunities for gains in efficiency and results-oriented management.
UNMJobs 2.0 will provide supervisors with tools for measuring goal attainment, and help them identify high achievers to improve career and talent mobility within the organization.

Open Lab Sessions are available for the following Employment Areas: Student, Staff, and HSC Faculty.
The UNMJobs 2.0 system transition provides an integrated approach to recruiting, staff development, performance management, and compensation, with the future option of adding an integrated learning module.
1. The new UNMJobs 2.0 system will utilize Cornerstone Applicant Tracking software to provide a robust, modern, comprehensive application tracking process to complement our ERP system for HR/Payroll at UNM.
2. UNMJobs 2.0 will automate the onboarding process through landing pages, automated workflows, and offer letters that can be locally configured and customized for different employee types. This information will then be fed back into Banner via the EPAF and workflow process to create employee and job records.
Working with Cornerstone on Demand (a partner of Ellucian, software provider of Banner), the UNMJobs 2.0 project team consists of subject matter experts from Faculty, Staff, and Student hiring areas (representing Main, HSC, and Branch campuses), IT, HRIT, HR Recruitment areas, and other applicable University departments. As UNM workflows and approval processes can be complicated, the project team has carefully conducted a thorough business analysis, to identify where processes may be re-engineered to ensure electronic resources are utilized to their full potential, while aiming for a smooth implementation.
A Steering Committee was also established to meet and review the UNMJobs 2.0 progress on a regular basis. At Steering Committee meetings, UNMJobs 2.0 Project Managers present the current state of the project, discuss progress, and next steps. This committee may also address potential hold-ups by finding solutions to ensure project momentum maintains a steady pace.
