At the University of New Mexico, we are proud to partner with United Way of North Central New Mexico (UWNCNM) to create lasting change for individuals, children and families across our five-county region.
Each year, UWNCNM invests more than $2 million in local organizations. This year we have new exciting events and meaningful initiatives that will allow us to make an even bigger impact on the community.
The UNM Gives campaign starts Oct. 1 and runs through Nov. 30! As a reminder, you can make a one-time donation or sign up for a payroll deduction. Even a small contribution could change a community member’s life. For example, $15 a paycheck could sponsor 80 students to participate in career and college readiness activities. Together, these acts of giving help create stronger, healthier and more resilient communities across New Mexico.
To improve the process, we have made changes to the online portal to make donating easier than ever.

Throughout the campaign, there will be three main events UNM staff, faculty and students can participate in to help raise funds.
Change for Change
Change for Change is a friendly competition between departments to see who can raise the most change from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. We have now added a QR code to make donating more convenient. The top two departments will win a pizza party from Saggio’s hand-delivered by President Goldstein.
Lobo Bake Sale
We have a brand-new event this year that will satisfy any sweet tooth! Join us Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the SUB atrium for the Lobo Bake Sale. Come grab a sweet treat for yourself, your coworker or your family. There will be a wide array of baked goods, and each dollar raised funnels back into the community.
President’s Fall Fiesta
Mark your calendar for our biggest event during UNM Gives! The second annual President’s Fall Fiesta will be on Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cornell Mall. This event brings together various UNM departments and community partners for a day of games and prizes.
Even the smallest contributions ripple outward in powerful ways. We look forward to another year of giving and making an impact in our community.
