Suicide Affects All of Us.
Everyone responds to suicide in their own way, there’s no single "right" reaction. Many myths surround suicide, and there's no set path for how survivors will grieve or how others should offer support. What is clear, is that we all have a role to play in prevention. By learning about the resources available both on campus and in the community, we can be better prepared to help. This knowledge is vital, because suicide is one of the most preventable causes of death.
In the U.S., someone dies by suicide every 11 minutes – that’s more than 130 people every day. Suicide remains one of the leading causes of death among college students, but it doesn't have to be. By joining suicide prevention efforts and learning about available interventions, we can all help save lives.
