If you need to purchase a parking permit, please take your offer letter to Parking and Transportation Services as proof of your employment as a temporary worker for the University of New Mexico.
Should your status on your temp assignment change (for example your projected end date changes), you must inform UNMTemps immediately. If your phone number changes for any reason or for any length of time, please contact us immediately. If you become unable to work for UNMTemps, you are hired into a regular position with the University or elsewhere, please notify us immediately.
Work schedules vary with each assignment. Temporary employees are paid only for those hours worked and are not eligible for paid time off. Shift differentials are authorized for positions involving swing and graveyard shifts. Shifts are determined by the department. Non-exempt UNMTemps are eligible for pre-approved overtime pay (hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week) at time and one-half. Exempt employees are not eligible for overtime pay. UNMTemps employees should reference their most recent offer letter to determine exemption and shift status.
UNMTemps employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis if non-exempt and on a monthly basis if exempt. The bi-weekly pay date will normally be on the first Friday after the end of the pay period, and the monthly pay date is usually the last day of the month. Please bring a voided/canceled check or a savings ID card from your bank to enroll in automatic payroll deposit. If you do not have a savings or checking account, please ask our HR Service Center for more information on how you can open an account with the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union. The University of New Mexico does not issue paper checks. Paycheck stubs are not mailed and can be viewed on LoboWeb. You can access LoboWeb by logging into my.unm.edu using your NetID and password and clicking on the "Employee Life" tab.
