Services and Resources

Adhoc Market Studies

In efforts to support the recruitment of specialized and/or hard to fill positions; where applicable, we obtain current, relevant market data to assist hiring managers in making pay decisions.

Classification & Compensation Studies

We conduct periodic reviews of identified classification series and/or job families in order to preserve the integrity and currency of the staff classification and compensation structure.

Compensation Analyses

In collaboration with leadership, we provide customized compensation analyses of staffing levels, internal equity, reporting and organizational structure, etc.

Compensation-Related Workshops

We design customized workshops for managers and HR administrators in order to equip them to successfully integrate the compensation tools into their overall staff recruitment and retention strategy.

Data Analyses

We conduct specialized data analyses to support regulatory compliance efforts, internal equity, and other classification and salary comparisons.

Glossary of Comp Terms

This section covers commonly used compensation terminology to ensure a shared understanding of these terms.

Policy interpretation and consultative services regarding compensation matters

We provide consultation and interpretation of Policy 3500: Wage and Salary Administration or any other compensation guidelines as they apply to staff employees.

Position Description Maintenance

UNM's classification structure is comprised of over 1,200 staff classification descriptions; all of which are maintained by HR Compensation. From time to time, hiring managers may identify updates are needed on a job description to better capture the essence of the job or the market conditions. When appropriate, we facilitate the update process.

Regulatory updates in Compensation

This section covers, at a high level, relevant regulatory updates regarding compensation.

Strategic workforce planning

At the request of leadership and HR administrators, we conduct overall reviews of a department's internal structure. Where applicable, we identify opportunities for efficiencies and recommend actions to help support the department's vision as it relates to workforce planning.
