The Career Pathways program is an organized approach to professional development and career planning for anyone wanting to improve skills for their current job, different or better job opportunities.
The UNM Career Pathways Certificate is a self-paced, personalized development program and offers four tracks:
This path is designed to help you lead others with authenticity and credibility, bring out the best in others while creating a work atmosphere of trust, and a culture of feedback.
Personal Effectiveness courses are designed to empower participants with the insights and proven tools to working smarter and getting more done with less effort and stress.
This path is designed to help you work on your communication skills and strategies to improve your working relationships.
These courses will help you leverage the value of diversity and inclusion to surface employees’ potential within your department as well as support you leading initiatives that support inclusive mindsets and behaviors that value diversity in the workplace.
Career Pathways certification is a "build your own" professional certificate. You will have three required courses from the selected path and then you will choose two electives to complete your program. You have one year to complete the 5 courses. See our course offerings for details.
Courses are scheduled during the day, allowing you to make it a part of your workweek. Career Pathways courses are free – no tuition remission is required.
Please note: This program does not apply to earning an academic degree (bachelors, masters) and you cannot earn academic credit for the program. This program is for professional development purposes only.
In order to receive certification, you must complete the following:
Submit your Declaration of Commitment Memo and you will be given specific instructions to join your career pathway.
All the courses will be offered via online. Some courses will be facilitated synchronously via Zoom or another online platform, and other classes are available as “self-pace”, which you can take on your own when convenient.
