UNM contributes a percentage of the premium for medical, dental, and basic life insurance as well as long-term disability. Once you enroll in any of the insurance plans, the premiums are automatically deducted from your paycheck. The percentage contributed by UNM is based on your salary.
Faculty who choose to receive their annual pay over ten months will be double deducted in May and August to cover their June and July premiums.
Salary based contribution cost share:
Effective July 1, 2023
|$44,999 and below||80%||20%|
|$45,000 - $59,999||70%||30%|
|$60,000 or more||60%||40%|
Effective July 1, 2020
|$34,999 and below||80%||20%|
|$35,000 - $49,999||70%||30%|
|$50,000 or more||60%||40%|
Note: If you are part-time through June 30, 2020, your base salary is calculated on the full-time equivalent. For example, if you are at an appointment percentage of 50% and earn $12,000 per year, your base salary is $24,000 and UNM would contribute 40%.
