HIPAA Compliance Policy for Certain Health Plans Offered by the University

The University of New Mexico, as a hybrid covered entity under 42 C.F.R. Part 164.504 hereby designates UNM Medical Plan as health care components for purposes of complying with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.

Mandatory Healthcare Notices

As an employer with a self-insured medical plan, UNM is required to inform benefits-eligible employees about certain rights and protections provided under Federal Law.
