Staff Success Days and the Well-Being Expo have united to bring you Level Up, two weeks of wellness, enrichment, and professional development.
UNM Benefits & Employee Wellness, UNM Employee & Organizational Development, UNM Staff Council, HSC Wellness, and the UNM Dean of Students Office are joining forces to offer Level Up Expo, two weeks of wellness, enrichment, and professional development to ignite your best.
The theme for this year’s expo is Restoring Your Resilience. Post-pandemic, we are working and living in a very different world. Many of us are still struggling with a new workplace environment, high department turnover, and personal burnout, in addition to issues of grief, loneliness, and health and financial concerns.

In this interactive workshop we will explore the roots of our own resiliency, particularly as it pertains to our intersectional experiences and how they manifest in the workplace. Participants will walk away with tangible skills that help them to understand their own workplace resilience and the ability to frame or re-frame their response(s) to the daily wins and challenges they encounter, as they navigate their careers. This is an interactive workshop so in-person attendance is encouraged but will be available via Zoom for those unable to attend. |

Although prioritizing our own well-being can be enjoyable, more often than not it’s a skill we have to lean into most on the days we feel we don’t have the bandwidth. Whether you’re a self-proclaimed self-care connoisseur or just trying your best to stay afloat, this presentation will provide you concepts and tools to shift from feeling self-care is selfish to embracing it as a tool to revitalize yourself and best serve others. |

The pandemic has dramatically changed how all of us work. Faculty and staff face new challenges, including those stemming from lost time during the height of the pandemic. ADVANCE at UNM developed a Pandemic Impact Report in 2022 based on a survey of UNM faculty, which clearly documents ongoing feelings of burnout and barriers to scholarship that require ongoing attention. The Chronicle of Higher Education summarized our work in an article titled, "A Rare Survey of Faculty Morale Shows That the Pandemic’s Effects Continue to Ripple." We draw on university, community, and national research to provide a host of recommendations for restoring resiliency, including how leaders can help. |

The Wayfinder Website: Helping Staff and Faculty to Address Discrimination, Harassment, Violence, Bullying, and Retaliation in the Workplace Presenter: Dr. Elizabeth Quay Hutchinson Via Zoom

The Staff and Faculty Wayfinder is a user-centered, private, intersectional, and trauma-informed website that will provide information, referrals, and reporting options for employees at The University of New Mexico who have experienced or witnessed harmful incidents in the workplace, from bullying and violations of academic freedom to discrimination, harassment, violence, and retaliation. In her talk, Dr. Hutchison will discuss how the Wayfinder design builds on research and best practices in trauma-informed design to help employees find their way to support at UNM. This DEI website and UCAM story provide additional detail about the goals, underlying research, design principles and ongoing evaluation of the Wayfinder project. |

‘Brain Health’ is a popular catch phrase and the National Institutes of Health has identified that expanding our knowledge base through new learning and stimulating discussion as well as eliminating isolation through social interaction with peers as effective ways to maintain healthy cognition into old age. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is one of 125 such programs around the country and has been offering academically based, intellectually stimulating and FUN programs at UNM Continuing Education since 2007.
